My Experience

My 16-year-old daughter had chronic strep throat and ear infections. The doctor recommended that she have her tonsils and adenoids removed. The doctor was very clear about all of our options for treatment and the possible pros and cons as a result of doing the procedure.

Once we decided to have the surgery, our doctor explained to us step by step what was going to take place when we arrived in the hospital; this was fantastic – very reassuring and helpful.

The surgery was uneventful. Although the recovery was a little slower than we expected, the support given by the doctors and nurses in the practice was excellent and very supportive. This made a difference to us during recovery.

My Advice

Make sure you keep your child well hydrated: work to insure that they drink something!
